Welcome to the AEW family!

I have been at AE Wright Middle School for 14 years and I love our wonderful staff and students.  I have been a School Counselor in LVUSD for 16 years. Before coming to the district I was an Outpatient Therapist for adolescents for 4 years.

I graduated from Willamette University with a bachelors degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. I later attended the University of Southern California for my Masters in Social Work and my PPS Credential for PSA and PSW (for Schools).  After Completing the requirements to be a LCSW, I returned to school at Phillip Graduate Institute to get an additional PPS Credential in School Counseling.

I love my job! Working with middle schoolers while they are on the roller coaster of growing and developing socially and emotionally and helping them navigate the changes successfully is my favorite part of each day.

Outside of work, I go on adventures with my 6 year old daughter, Emily. I love to travel, scuba dive, kayak, run, bike and camp.

I look forward to getting to know all of my AEW families!

This is my 4th year at AE Wright and I couldn't be more excited to get to know my new students and see everyone from before. This will be my 10th year as a school counselor and my favorite thing about my job is working with children and helping make a difference in their lives.

I studied Psychology and Child Development for my undergraduate degree at Chico State and earned my masters in School Counseling at Cal Lutheran University.

My favorite things to do are spending time with my family, hiking, water skiing, traveling, cooking, and baking.

I have two children, Jace and Reid.

Mrs. Kolker- Wellness Counselor

This is my first year at AEW and I am delighted to join the Spartan community as your new Wellness Counselor!

This is my second year with LVUSD as a Middle School Wellness Counselor. Prior to joining the LVUSD team, I taught Math, Science and Health at a Continuation high school, then created and implemented an Independent Study program. In addition, I have a private practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and occasionally teach yoga and mindfulness classes.

Having worked with elementary and high school students, I am thrilled to have ended up at the most fun of all…middle school. Despite the changes and challenges that occur during middle school, I have enjoyed laughing and learning stress management and coping skills alongside these mysterious creatures!

In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, traveling, hiking and playing pickleball with my new husband and our four daughters.

I look forward to meeting you all!

School Psychologist

(On Campus Monday, Tuesday and Friday)

When I joined LVUSD as a school psychologist in Spring 2022, I had the good fortune of
being assigned to AE Wright Middle School. I am thrilled to continue serving this amazing
community of students and families! Although school psychologists wear many hats, at the
end of the day my job is supporting student success. What I like best about being a school
psychologist is the privilege of getting to know the unique strengths and needs of each of my
students, problem solving, and being a source of positive change. I’m honored to be part of
the dedicated team of educators at AE Wright and look forward to a successful year for our
students!
As a second career psychologist, I’m relatively new to the field. Before joining LVUSD, I
worked with students in grades K-8 as a school psychologist at Hueneme Elementary School
District for a year and a half. Prior to that I completed my year-long internship at Santa
Monica Malibu Unified School District (K-12) and St. Monica Elementary School (TK-8). I
did my graduate training at Loyola Marymount University where I earned a Master’s in
Educational Psychology in May 2019 and my Education Specialist and Pupil Personnel
Services (PPS) Credential in May 2020. Previously in my first career, I received an MBA
from Claremont Graduate University, held leadership positions in corporate marketing and
management consulting, and taught college classes at San Francisco State University.
In my free time I enjoy learning about all kinds of things, spending time with people who
make me smile, fitness, and travel.

This is my second year at A.E. Wright and I am the registrar/communications coordinator. I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors playing tennis and pickleball. Most weekends you can find me on the sidelines of a soccer field cheering on my daughter.  We also love to travel and are planning to visit Nashville, TN, Portugal and Spain this year!  I'm an avid reader and baker. My favorite book so far this year is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
